Job Title: Production Supervisor
Job Summary
The Production Supervisor, Remelt is responsible for leading, planning, organizing, and directing all daily activities for the Remelt Department. The incumbent is responsible for the safety, production, and quality results of the department. This role provides technical information, documentation, support, and guidance by participating as a cross-functional team member to help resolve manufacturing-related issues. The Production Supervisor will help drive improvement in all related manufacturing processes, including those related to products, equipment, human interface, and product quality. This position requires active involvement with production processes and personnel.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervise a group of hourly employees
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Actively promote and enforce safety regulations, processes, and policies to maintain a safe environment
- Conduct weekly safety audits of the assigned department
- Meet daily and weekly output requirements for assigned department(s)
- Provide leadership, management, and motivation to drive high levels of employee achievement and retention
- Plan, direct, and assign work; coordinate overtime as necessary
- Train, coach, and mentor employees
- Ensure materials are scheduled to complete departmental operations in accordance with delivery schedules
- Schedule operations to maximize efficiency and productivity
- Monitor usage of tools associated with production and suggest improvement initiatives
- Disposition material on hold in a timely manner to prevent impact to on-time delivery (OTD)
- Ensure equipment is properly maintained, including preventative maintenance coordination
- Create, edit, and maintain material routings
- Ensure materials are processed correctly to minimize rejects and process loss
- Evaluate departmental yield loss and identify improvement opportunities
- Track productivity, quality, and performance metrics to ensure on-time delivery and lead improvement projects
- Issue corrective actions and discipline as necessary

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing leadership role
- Experience in a union environment preferred
- U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency required due to ITAR and EAR regulations
