Position Title: Labor & Employment Attorney – Management & Union Relations Focus

Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana

Position Summary:

A well-established, full-service law firm based in Fort Wayne, Indiana, is seeking an experiencedLabor & Employment Attorney with a strong background in management-side labor law and union relations. The ideal candidate will have a proven record of advising employers on labor law matters, handling union-related issues, and representing clients before relevant administrative agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

● Advise and represent employers in all areas of labor and employment law, including:

○ Discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims

○ Wrongful discharge and employment contract disputes

○ FMLA, ADA, and other leave-related issues

○ Wage and hour compliance

○ Development and review of employee handbooks and policies

○ Workers’ compensation and unemployment matters

○ Immigration-related employment issues

● Handle labor-specific matters such as:

○ Collective bargaining negotiations

○ Arbitrations and grievance proceedings

○ Unfair labor practice proceedings

○ Union organizing campaigns and union avoidance strategies

● Represent clients before state and federal courts and administrative agencies, including the EEOC, Department of Labor, and National Labor Relations Board.

Qualifications:

● Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

● Admission to the Indiana State Bar

● Minimum of 5 years of experience in labor and employment law, with a focus on management-side representation

● Demonstrated experience with union-related matters and agency representation

● Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills

● Ability to work independently and within a team

Preferred Qualifications:

● Experience in industries such as manufacturing, construction, healthcare, or education

● Background in human resources or prior experience as in-house counsel

● Recognition by professional organizations or publications in labor and employment law
