Position Summary
We are seeking a Product Design Engineer to support the design, development, and improvement of mechanical components and assemblies. This role will be responsible for creating functional, manufacturable, and cost-effective designs while collaborating with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and engineering. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical design skills and experience working in a production-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD software
- Create detailed engineering drawings, models, and bills of materials (BOMs)
- Support new product development from concept through production release
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, assembly, and cost efficiency
- Design and support structural components, brackets, mounting systems, and mechanical assemblies
- Assist with prototype development, testing, and implementation into production
- Troubleshoot design and production issues and implement engineering solutions
- Support engineering change requests and maintain design documentation
- Participate in continuous improvement and product enhancement initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Required)
- Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, or similar
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles
- Ability to read and create engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work in a team-oriented manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with sheet metal, structural components, or welded assemblies
- Knowledge of fabrication and assembly processes
- Experience supporting production and engineering teams
